Pyrograph awarded:

Weston Craft Show artisan Heather Cannistraci (pictured at
left above) reached into a basket and selected the name of Ken
McKinley of Stillwater, Oklahoma as the winner of her exquisite
pyrograph of Weston's Old Mill Museum. The drawing wrapped up
the 22nd Annual Weston Craft Show by awarding to one
of the responders to the show's survey this coveted prize.
Hearing of their good fortune, Ken's wife Mary remarked," your
show was the highlight of our trip! We were amazed at the
quality of the crafts throughout the show."
The 2005 Show, held at the Weston Playhouse over Columbus Day
Weekend, featured 50 juried Vermont artisans displaying a
cornucopia of beautiful hand-made objects, and for the first
time, also included craft education seminars to help attendees
appreciate the fine points of the ceramics and fiber arts media.
The show attracted over 2,500 attendees who admired and shopped
for incredible blown glass, pottery, wearable fiber arts,
jewelry and folk art.
The Weston Craft Show is an all-volunteer effort. Chair
Shirley Knowlton (pictured above at right) thanked all those who
participated as well as all those who supported the show with
their attendance. She is pleased to announce that the show
raised $20,000 for the preservation and maintenance of Weston's
historic properties: the Farrar-Mansur House, the Old Mill, and
the Craft Building. An additional sum of $8,000 was contributed
to the Weston Community Club's new Endowment Fund.
The 23rd annual Weston Craft Show will be held on
Columbus Day Weekend, October 6th, 7th,
and 8th, 2006.
