Woodwork
Abijah’s lifelong passion for woodwork began when he was a young boy, in his grandfather’s workshop. His livelihood as an engineer and as a mathematics teacher have supported his passion, allowing him to do woodwork as a true amateur, one motivated by the love of the craft.
His knowledge of engineering and mathematics is called frequently into play in designing and executing his works. Abijah designs and makes furniture, cabinetry, architectural woodwork and has made several musical instruments, to wit, harpsichords, clavichords and hammered dulcimers. He accepts private commissions and cheerfully invites visitors to his shop in Putney.
About the Weston Craft Show
The Weston Craft Show is a juried exhibit of exceptional Vermont artisans, representing works in ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood.
This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, October 12, Saturday, October 13, and Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm - in charming Weston, Vermont.
This is your opportunity to purchase items from one of the most prestigious exhibitions of contemporary crafts in Vermont. The show is produced by the Weston Craft Show Committee, which through its grants process supports the Weston Historic Preservation. More than $500,000 has been raised and contributed to the Weston Historical Society. Come join us and celebrate the art of fine Vermont craftsmanship—Vermont’s premier crafts show in our 29th year.
